Liquid sloshing is a classic problem inhydrodynamics. It has a wide range of applications in engineering such as theliquid in large storage tanks, the motions of liquid fuel in an aircraft or arocket, liquid damper in the tank on a building or a vessel. The major problemof sloshing is that near or at the resonance the motion of the liquid canbecome exceedingly large and the load caused by the liquid sloshing can affectthe stability and the structural integrity of the tank or the host carrier ofthe tank.
The present talk will cover theintroduction of the sloshing phenomena, methodology summary and numerousvarious sloshing problem researches, which specifically including: (1)Second-order resonance of sloshing(2D); (2) Second-order resonance ofsloshing(3D); (3) Air-cushion effect; (4) Sloshing of stratified liquid; (5)Sloshingof viscous flow; (6) Fully nonlinear sloshing between multi-floatingbodies(2D); (7) Fully nonlinear sloshing(2D); (8) Fully nonlinear sloshing(3D).
主讲人简介:吴国雄教授,我校讲座教授。1982年本科毕业于上海交通大学船舶与海洋工程系,1984年和1986年在University College London分别获得船舶与海洋工程专业硕士和博士学位。现任英国伦敦大学教授,英国船舶系统研究组成员、英国劳氏教育基金会首席专家;多年来,对流体力学进行了广泛的研究,尤其是对流体力学的工程应用进行了深入的研究。2010年成立了由UCL、上海交通大学和哈尔滨工程大学组成的深水工程及水动力学国际联合研究中心,是该研究中心的首席教授。
