Title：Complement to a Proof of Discriminating Theorem on Center and Focus
Abstract：The discrimination of center and focus for planar differential system s is an important part in the study of qualitative theory of differential equations． However，we found that there is a gap in a proof of a theorem in this aspect which appears in more than ten textbooks published in recent 30 years．The aim of this paper is to complement the gap to the proof of the theorem．
韩茂安，上海师范大学特聘教授、博士生导师，上海师范大学数理信息学院副院长、数学科学研究所所长。主要从事常微分方程与动力系统理论及应用研究，获得一系列有重要学术价值的研究成果，建立了系统完整、特色突出的一般理论与方法。作为负责人主持完成5项国家自然科学基金项目，5项省部级基金项目，并入选2004年度教育部新世纪优秀人才培养计划和2006年度上海市学优秀科带头人支持计划；有7项研究成果获得省部级科技进步奖，其中作为第一完成人获得2002年度教育部科技进步奖一等奖；作为第一完成人获得2006年度上海市自然科学奖二等奖。1992年获得国务院政府特殊津贴，1994年被授予国家中青年有突出贡献专家称号。美国《数学评论》、德国《数学文摘》评论员、上海市非线性科学研究会副理事长、上海市数学会理事、国际SCI数学杂志《Disc. and Contin. Dyn. Sys.》(B) 及《Communication on Applied and Pure Analysis》编委等。目前已出版专著五部，与国内外合作者一起在国内外重要学术杂志发表论文200多篇。
